Macon Tree Preservation, Protection and Replacement

Requires that, prior to any land disturbing activity adjacent to Macon-Bibb County-owned property and public rights-of-way specified as “within the tree protection zone,” property owners must obtain approval of the County forester. All actions required to preserve and protect trees are outlined in the Arboricultural Specifications and Standards of Practice Manual. Requires replacement (of certain trees) after removal with trees of equal value and at least two-inch caliper. Aggregate or combined caliper inches of replacement trees shall equal the total diameter inches (diameter at breast height) of the tree(s) removed.
