Aberdeen Tree Protection Code

Aberdeen Code of Ordinances has several sections on tree protection. § 56-5 states that no person shall willfully injure, destroy or deface any tree, shrub, plant or grass as well as willfully injure or destroy any cultivated fruits or vegetables, ornamental trees, shrubs, hedges, vines or flowers. § 56-6 states that it shall be unlawful for any person to top any tree on public or private property. Finally, § 56-71 states that no person shall trim, spray, preserve or remove trees in public places without first filing an application and procuring a permit from the city forester. The application for permit shall be accompanied by the permit fee set forth in the city fee schedule on file in the office of the finance officer.
