Allentown Public Tree Policy

Allentown’s Code of Ordinances defines protections for all trees on public land or in the public right-of-way, prohibiting injury and removal without approval, as well as any reduction to the size of an existing tree pit, planting strip, or root zone. It also establishes a Shade Tree Commission to advise on all matters concerning shade trees.

Additionally, § 660-62 establishes special protections for trees in the Low Density Conservation Residential District.
