Arvada Low-Impact Development Practices

Arvada recommends Low-Impact Development (LID) practices to manage rainwater effectively. Solutions such as permeable pavers, porous surfaces, bioswales, grassed swales, rain gardens, and sand filters help filter rainwater, reduce runoff, and remove pollutants. These practices also promote the use of native plants and, when combined with street tree planting, enhance air circulation around tree roots while providing a flexible, removable surface that can be easily regraded when needed.
