Athens Stormwater Management Policy

Requires stormwater runoff treatment before discharge. This requires that projects retain the first 1.0 inch of rainfall on-site, with appropriate structural stormwater controls and practices implemented according to specific criteria in the Georgia Stormwater Management Manual or as provided in Transportation and Public Works Department Technical Standards.

Stormwater management systems are presumed to comply with standards for stormwater runoff treatment if the design utilizes green infrastructure, low impact design, and runoff reduction to the maximum extent practicable.
