Augusta Open Space Requirements

The Augusta-Richmond County Code of Ordinances requires that a certain portion of development sites not covered by buildings are of adequate size, shape, improvement, and location to be usable for outdoor recreation and to preserve natural resources within the project. Permitted uses of open space include preservation of natural areas, areas designed for water quality improvement, and community gardens, among others.
