Augusta Storm Water Management Ordinance

This ordinance that water quantity and quality controls will be provided as part of all new development and redevelopment, provided that management of runoff on-site is practicable. The ordinance points to Augusta’s Soil Erosion, Sedimentation, and Pollution Control Ordinance (Title 7, Chapter 3), Planning and Zoning Ordinance (Title 8), Water and Wastewater Ordinance (Title 5, Chapter 2) and Subdivision of Land Ordinance (Title 8, Chapter 3) for guidance on water quantity and quality control strategies. These include Best Management Practices (BMPs) that emphasize “Low-impact Development” and Green Stormwater Infrastructure, as described in the “Manual for Erosion and Sediment Control in Georgia.”
