Baltimore City Landscape Manual

The objectives of the Landscape Manual, as established in the Baltimore City Zoning Code, are summarized as follows: Foster environmentally sensitive site design that preserves natural vegetation and landforms; Complement the built environment through planting; Articulate spatial relationships, provide image, develop sense of place, and improve the aesthetics of the built environment; Create pedestrian and bicycle-friendly environments; Integrate the preparation, review, and approval of landscape plans into the existing City process for development review and approval; Coordinate landscape requirements with related regulations, including those for Critical Areas, forest conservation, stormwater management, and green building standards; Encourage the use of sustainable landscape construction and maintenance techniques, to support the goals established by the Baltimore Sustainability Plan; etc.
