Beckley Tree Protection During Excavation Work

The code is designed to protect trees during excavation and construction work. It requires that all digging or ground openings be done without harming the roots, trunk, or branches of any tree. To ensure this, workers must fully follow all directions given by the Director of Public Works regarding how the work should be performed. Once the work is complete, the area must be properly backfilled and compacted to the satisfaction of the Director.
