Big Flats Landscaping and Stormwater Guidelines for Parking Lots

This Big Flats Zoning Ordinance provides that landscaped islands are recommended at the ends of parking bays with eight or more spaces and at least every second row to promote safe traffic flow, enhance pedestrian safety, support plant growth, and improve aesthetics. These islands should offer vertical definition, shade, and visual relief while potentially incorporating stormwater management features like bioretention areas or swales.
