Boulder Solar Access Guideline

The Boulder solar access guideline regulates structures to ensure access to solar energy in Boulder. The guideline establishes the concept of a “solar fence” to limit the shading impact of structures on neighboring properties. Additionally, the regulation allows vegetation planted after the permit application may be removed or trimmed, with costs typically borne by the vegetation owner.
