California Solar Shade Control Act

California’s Solar Shade Control Act regulates the impact of trees and shrubs on solar energy systems, prohibiting tree or shrub placement that casts a shadow greater than 10% of a solar collector’s absorption area between 10 am and 2 pm. Property owners must notify neighbors about potential shading issues before installing a solar collector.
