This chapter establishes the City Tree Fund, a dedicated financial resource designed to protect and enhance the city’s urban forest. Funds are accumulated from various sources, including fines for tree removal violations, street tree permit fees, donations, and the sale of city-owned trees. These funds are then allocated towards urban forestry activities such as tree planting and maintenance, soil and native vegetation preservation, community education, invasive species control, and other tree-related purposes determined by the city council, ensuring the long-term health of Camas’s tree canopy.
