Cedar Rapids Stormwater Best Management Practices Cost-Share Program

The city creates credits to reduce the stormwater utility charge. Property owners can earn credits by installing stormwater infiltration practices in accordance with the Iowa Stormwater Manual and by the percentage of impervious area runoff infiltrated; the development and implementation of a city-approved stormwater educational program; and by demonstrating that the lot does not discharge any stormwater runoff from the site directly or indirectly before, during or after storms. This section also establishes a Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP) Cost-Share Program to incentivize BMPs to reduce stormwater runoff volume for those properties subject to the stormwater utility fee. The cost-share program will reimburse up to 50% of a BMP’s project cost to the extent funds are available in a given fiscal year.
