Cohoes Parking Snow Melt Requirement

This Cohoes Ordinance requires off-street parking areas of more than 20 spaces to provide for snow melt over vegetated area or into green infrastructure area. It requires that off-street parking areas containing more than 20 spaces must include accommodations to allow for the melting and drainage of snow over vegetated areas or into designated green infrastructure zones. The goal is to reduce runoff and pollution associated with impervious surfaces, especially during winter months, by promoting infiltration and natural filtration of snowmelt through vegetation or engineered green systems.
