Cortland Ordinance Permitting White Roofs and Rooftop Solar

This Cortland Ordinance permits white roofs and rooftop solar. It authorizes and encourages the installation of white roofs on buildings to reduce urban heat island effects. Specifically, it prohibits reflective surfaces that produce glare, except for solar panels or white roofs intended to radiate absorbed or nonreflected solar energy and reduce heat transfer to the building.
