Des Moines 2020 Urban Forest Master Plan

The city’s 2020 Urban Forest Master Plan strives to plant 3800 trees annually until the year 2045 to meet Iowa DNR’s target of a 3% canopy increase, which will require a planting budget increase up to $1 million per year. The city also strives to meet the 11 national recommendations from the Vibrant Cities Lab.
