Dundee Site and Building Design Standards for Commercial Zones

In order to encourage pedestrian-oriented and sustainable design while allowing flexibility on architectural style, development in commercial zones shall provide a combination of design features to meet standards set forth in Section G.
(1) Applies to new buildings, additions and exterior renovations within C and CBD zones
(2) Points-based system, where points are awarded to the developer based on the design criteria used in the project. Minimum total number of points in CBD zone is 14, and in C zone is it 8.
(3) Extra points are awarded for design criteria used in the project including for:
(a) Trees
(b) Use of native plants
(c) Stormwater management using low impact stormwater management measures (including rain gardens, bioswales, and similar LIDA techniques)
(d) Use of permeable paving
(e) Green roofs for stormwater management covering more than 50% of the total roof area
