Franklin Green Stormwater Management Ordinance

This Franklin ordinance establishes stormwater management requirements for all new developments and redevelopments that disturb more than an acre of land. Starting January 1, 2014, all new development and redevelopment in Franklin must incorporate green infrastructure practices to reduce stormwater runoff, following the city’s guidelines for runoff reduction methods. Alternative practices may be approved by the city engineer in specific cases of site limitations, such as groundwater pollution risks, soil contamination, or utility conflicts, but cost and difficulty are not valid reasons for exemption.
