Honolulu Low Impact Development Strategies

Honolulu requires five Low Impact Development (LID) strategies to reduce runoff and preserve natural hydrology: (1) preserve natural areas, soils, and vegetation; (2) protect existing drainage paths; (3) limit soil compaction; (4) redirect runoff to landscaped areas; and (5) minimize impervious surfaces.
