Honolulu Reduction Target for GHG Emissions

Honolulu’s Climate Action Plan contemplates a 45% reduction in targeted GHG emissions by 2025 relative to 2015. This plan will aim to reduce emissions from the transportation, electricity, and waste sectors by an estimated 45% from 2015 levels by 2025. Per Ordinance 20-47, this plan is updated every five years to assess new technologies, policies, and approaches to take into account. Strategies for reducing electricity use include a plan to “maximize energy efficiency and renewable energy throughout city operations and assets.”
