Indianapolis Green Factor – Sustainable Development

Promotes sustainable development by requiring a Green Factor score for vegetative cover, green roofs, white roofs, and landscaping integration. New developments must achieve a score of 0.30 for undeveloped land or 0.22 for previously developed sites. Compliance can alternatively be achieved with ENERGY STAR-rated buildings (75+). Developers must submit calculations, maintenance plans, and permits, with vegetation and landscaping adhering to the Indianapolis Green Infrastructure Supplement Document.
