Jacksonville Tree Commission

The tree commission studies the city’s urban forest, identifies needs, and develops an annual community tree plan. It recommends an approved tree list for public land, assists with public education on tree planting and care, and holds regular public meetings. Additionally, the commission may engage in activities such as applying for Tree City USA status, organizing Arbor Week, and coordinating tree planting projects to benefit the urban forest.
