Kenner Stormwater Management Requirements

The stormwater management requirements aim to reduce urban runoff and mitigate the effects of new development, redevelopment, or infill development on the existing drainage system. This is achieved by preserving permeable surfaces and requiring the installation of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs). These BMPs include bioswales, circular depressions, constructed wetlands, detention/retention basins, permeable pavers, porous surfaces, and rain gardens , and tree protection areas. Additionally, rooftop runoff management techniques such as green roofs, blue roofs, cisterns, and rain barrels are used to capture stormwater.
