Knoxville Climate Council

In 2020, Knoxville Mayor Kincannon formed the Mayor’s Climate Council to develop strategies for reducing emissions by 80% in Knoxville by 2050. The council, consisting of over 65 members from various sectors, evaluated proven strategies for their impact on climate, economy, and community. The resulting plan focuses on transportation, buildings and energy, and waste reduction.
