Las Vegas Roof-Mounted Solar Panels and Building Height Regulations

Las Vegas Unified Development Code § 19.08.040(D)(1) permits roof-mounted solar panel units with a conditional use permit and states that solar panels will not be considered part of the building height.

§ 19.12.070 states that solar panels visible from public right-of-way must not project more than 40 inches from the roof surface. When mounted on sloped roof, the support structure and enclosure cladding, but not solar cells, shall match the roof in color and appearance.
