Las Vegas Urban Forestry Program

Las Vegas City Council adopted a resolution in September 2022 to create an Urban Forestry Program to meet the city’s 2050 Master Plan goals of increasing the city’s tree canopy by 20% by 2035 and by 25% by 2050. The urban forestry goal is also to plan and maintain 60,000 trees by 2050 and ensure 85% of the city’s population lives within 1/3 mile from green infrastructure.

This builds upon the resolution (R-26-2008) to create the Urban Forestry Initiative set double the average tree canopy to 20% by 2035 and prepare an urban forestry plan.
