Lawton Tree Preservation Code

The City of Lawton Code of Ordinance § 21-4-402 states that the arrangement of lots and blocks and the street system should be designed to make the most advantageous use of topography and natural physical features. Methods for preservation of tree masses and large individual trees shall be presented by the subdivider or his subcontractor to the LMAPC. Environmentally sensitive areas shall be identified and made the subject of special requirements in the platting process. § 6-1-4-167 states that no tree on any street shall be removed or the branches of any tree be cut or trimmed in order to facilitate the moving of any building, except with the consent and under the supervision of the park superintendent. No fixture on any street or alley shall be removed, displaced or otherwise interfered with to facilitate the moving of any building except with the consent and under the supervision of the building official.
