Lewiston, Maine Post-Construction Stormwater Management Ordinance

This Lewiston ordinance applies to all new development and redevelopment projects within the municipality’s urbanized area, requiring each to have an approved Post-Construction Stormwater Management Plan unless the lot is part of a previously approved subdivision. Applicants must notify the municipality of any Best Management Practices (BMPs) discharging into the municipal storm system and provide a performance guarantee to ensure maintenance of stormwater facilities. Ongoing compliance is enforced through annual third-party inspections, reporting, and the municipality’s right of entry.
