Lincoln City Municipal Code for Tree Protection and Preservation

This rule aims to establish regulations to protect trees, encourage the preservation of trees in the city, require the preservation of trees on property subject to development approval, and set standards for removal of trees. This includes (1) Replacement of Trees Lawfully Removed – (6) In Lieu Payment — A developer can provide an in-lieu payment for the cost of replacing a tree removed during development. Such funds are used by the city for planting and maintenance of mitigation trees on city-owned property, with any unspent funds carried forward from year to year for the purpose of maintaining the city’s urban forest.
