Long Beach Climate Action and Adaptation Plan

Long Beach’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan lays out the city’s target actins to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Among many other actions described, the plan articulates a set of steps to combat extreme heat. Those include action to “[i]ncrease presence of cool roofs and cool walls,” increasing “the presence of reflective streets, cool surfaces, and shade canopies,” and growing and protecting “urban forest cover and vegetation.”
