Long Beach Ordinance Establishing Landscape Standards

This Long Beach ordinance establishes standards for landscaped areas in the city. Non-permeable paving and artificial turf are not permitted to cover more than 30% of on-site area not paved or covered by structures, and the use of permeable and high reflectance paving materials is encouraged. Large canopy trees are required to help minimize the urban heat island effect. Green stormwater infrastructure and water-smart landscaping are also encouraged.
