Longmont Species and Habitat Preservation Provisions

Development standards in Longmont’s code include a provision designed to protect habitat and biodiversity. The provision applies to most new construction and rezonings, and requires review of site plans to determine impacts on habitat and endangered species, additional setbacks in some cases, measures to limit non-native vegetation, and for some projects, a species and habitat conservation plan.
