Longmont Tree Preservation and Replacement Requirements

Longmont’s tree preservation regulations focus on protecting trees and other vegetation on city property. They make it unlawful to destroy city-owned trees, assess a penalty of triple the value of a tree for any that are removed without a permit, and require any city agency responsible for maintaining trees to replace any tree they remove when directed to do so by Public Works.
