Marion Provisions for Rooftop Farms, Greenhouses, Composting and Keeping Honeybees

Municipal Code 340-9.33 permits roof level urban farms and rooftop greenhouses subject to conditions. The primary activity to be performed on a roof level urban farm, or within a farm structure, shall be the cultivation of plants; other activities may be subject to permitting. Accessory composting is permitted as long as it meets maximum height, setback, and lot coverage requirements. Accessory keeping of honeybees shall be allowed as a conditional use in all zoning districts, as long as all conditions of the conditional use permit are met.
