Marion Residential Stormwater Cost-Sharing (Rebate) Program

The Residential Cost-Sharing Program promotes methods to capture and infiltrate stormwater in residential areas. Stormwater BMPs such as rain gardens, rain barrels and soil quality restoration can be used in residential yards to capture stormwater where it falls and allow it to infiltrate into the ground. There are different rebates according to green infrastructure type:
– Rain gardens are eligible for a onetime rain garden rebate, which covers 50% of eligible purchases for the project, up to a maximum reimbursement of $1,000.
– Soil Quality Restoration (SQR) is a process of soil aeration and compost application that improves the root systems of lawn grass and allows for better rainwater absorption. The one-time SQR rebate covers 50% of the SQR project cost, up to a maximum of $1,000.
– Pervious pavers are eligible for a one-time pervious pavers rebate that covers 50% of eligible purchases for the project, up to a maximum reimbursement of $1,000.
– Native Plants are eligible for a one-time native plant rebate that covers 50% of eligible purchases for the project, up to a maximum reimbursement of $1,000.
– Trees are eligible for up to a $50 rebate that can be applied to newly purchased trees. This rebate can be applied for up to three times per property.
– Rain barrels are eligible for up to a $50 rebate can be applied to a newly purchased rain barrel. This rebate can be applied for up to three times per property.
