Mesa Smart Growth Community Plans

A Smart Growth Community Plan should promote the Environmental Planning and Conservation goals of the Mesa General Plan. This can be measured by the achievement of LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the US Green Building Council, or equivalent, for all residential and mixed-use buildings. Also, LEED-ND certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development) for the SGCP should be pursued. It also should connect and blend with the scale and character of the surrounding walkable urbanism.
