Minnesota DOT Carbon Reduction Strategy

The Minnesota DOT’s Carbon Reduction Strategy supports Minnesota’s greenhouse gas reduction goals. The Strategy identifies priority investments to reduce carbon emissions from on-road transportation sources and the development and maintenance of the transportation system. The Strategy calls for the DOT to implement solar panels and other renewable energy generation on transit stations, increase the application of vegetation and roadside tree canopy throughout projects, and implement renewable energy projects in highway right-of-way.
