Murfreesboro Stormwater Management Ordinance

This Murfreesboro ordinance establishes stormwater management requirements for projects that disturb more than one acre of land. These must include tree protection measures, and, in cases where development occurs adjacent to streams, wetlands, or lakes, they must include water quality protection areas like riparian buffers. Permanent stormwater management measures are also required for development projects that disturb at least one acre or involve construction of 10,000 square feet of impervious surfaces. If the site has less than 2 acres of impervious area, the city will consider green infrastructure features as an alternative method of achieving control of peak discharge and extended detention.
