Muskogee Tree Protection Code

The City of Muskogee Code of Ordinance § 86-27 states that the city shall have the right to plant, trim, spray, preserve and remove trees, plants, and shrubs within the lines of all streets, alleys, avenues, lanes, squares, and public grounds, as may be necessary to ensure safety when servicing city utilities or to preserve the symmetry and beauty of such public grounds. § 18-219 also states that no tree on any street shall be removed or the branches of any tree be cut or trimmed in order to facilitate the moving of any building, except with the consent and under the supervision of the park superintendent. No fixture on any street or alley shall be removed, displaced or otherwise interfered with to facilitate the moving of any building except with the consent and under the supervision of the responsible building official.
