Nashville Ordinance Establishing a Planning District for Green Stormwater Infrastructure

This Nashville ordinance establishes a Stormwater Master Planning District to develop a plan for green infrastructure within the area served by the combined sanitary sewer system (CSS). The Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services (MWS) will lead the plan, in coordination with other agencies, to identify green infrastructure installations and their impact on stormwater management. “Green infrastructure” here includes open space, rain gardens, porous pavements, green roofs, infiltration planters, trees and tree boxes, swales, and curb extensions.
