Nashville Renewable Energy Standards Ordinance

The Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) for Nashville prioritizes solar energy, with the goal of reaching 10% solar energy use by 2041, when the city plans to achieve 100% carbon-free energy generation. Starting at 1% in 2020, solar energy usage will steadily increase each year, contributing to the overall carbon-free energy targets. The Metropolitan Government is encouraged to boost community solar initiatives and can use renewable energy credits to meet its solar energy goals.
