Nebraska Energy Element Requirements for Comprehensive Plans in Metropolitan-Class Cities

This policy mandates that when a metropolitan-class city adopts a new or updated comprehensive plan, it must include an energy element. The energy element must assess infrastructure and energy use across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, evaluate the use of renewable energy sources, and promote energy conservation measures that benefit the community. This requirement ensures that energy planning is integrated into long-term urban development strategies.
