North Carolina “Environmentally Preferable” Procurement Policy

NC State agencies and universities are required to procure environmentally preferable products pursuant to Executive Order No. 156
• Encourages state agencies to procure goods and services that have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment
• Requires state agencies to implement programs to make its operations environmentally sustainable
