North Las Vegas Tree Preservation Within New Developments

North Las Vegas Code of Ordinances § 17.24.030 requires the preservation of existing trees and vegetation on multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, and industrial developments greater than one acre and all single and two-family residential projects of more than five dwelling units because of their ability to sequester greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and provide more shade than establishing new trees. Significant trees, which a tree that has reached seventy-five (75) percent or greater of the mature dimensions of a typical specimen of the species, shall be identified and preserved to the maximum extent possible
