Oakland Ordinance Limiting Impervious Surfaces in Open Space Zones

The Oakland zoning code for open spaces includes mandates for maximum impervious surface in different types of parks. For example, passive mini-parks may have no more than 10% impervious surfaces, while plazas and active mini-parks do not have an impervious surface limit. Resource conservation areas (excluding required parking areas) may have no more than 1% of total park area or 2,500 square feet, whichever is smaller, consist of impervious surfaces.
