Olympia Landmark Tree Protection

Olympia protects designated landmark trees for their historical, ecological, or aesthetic value through regulations in Chapter 16.56 of the Municipal Code. Generally, a permit is required for any tree removal, and landmark trees are especially protected, with removal prohibited except in specific circumstances. The city maintains a registration process for landmark trees and enforces penalties for violations of the protection ordinance.
