Opelika Stormwater Best Management Practices Requirements

Requirements for developments where land-disturbing activities have occurred include re-vegetating denuded areas, stabilizing cuts and slopes, protecting drainageways with vegetation or structural measures, removing debris from drainageways, and controlling stormwater runoff to prevent pollution using Best Management Practices (BMPs) such as detention ponds, constructed wetlands, infiltration systems (e.g., porous pavement, infiltration basins), filtering systems (e.g., rain gardens, sand filters), and swales.
