Oregon Bill to Establish Energy Efficiency Requirements

In 2008, Oregon House Bill 3612 was signed into law. This Bill requires state agencies authorized to finance construction, purchase or renovation of facilities used by the state to require an energy consumption analysis to be prepared by a person pre-qualified to perform work the agency. In addition, the Oregon Department of Energy must establish guidelines for incorporating energy efficiency requirements into certain lease agreements, implementing 20% reduction in energy use by 2015 in facilities owned by the agency
