Oregon State Code for Trees

This rule provides that the Oregon State Forestry Department provide assistance to cities, counties, other governmental units, nonprofit and civic organizations interested in planting and caring for trees in communities. Such technical assistance may include but is not limited to: (1) Establishing and maintaining local urban and community forestry programs; (2) Develop public information programs to promote awareness of the values and benefits of the urban forest as a resource of the urban community; and (3) Implement appropriate tree management and care practices. In addition, the State Forestry Department may receive and disburse such gifts, grants, bequests, federal funding and other resources for the purpose of conducting urban and community forestry programs.
